Motherhood is a wild ride, isn’t it? One minute you’re rocking your baby to sleep, soaking in those sweet snuggles and the next, you’re wiping mashed bananas off the ceiling and wondering when you last washed your hair.
Annika’s heirloom motherhood session was the perfect reminder that amidst the beautiful chaos, there’s so much magic worth holding onto!
We photographed her session at my studio just outside Medford, Oregon which a place where, for an hour or two, the world slows down enough to capture the fleeting moments we moms wish we could bottle up forever.
Annika wanted photos that felt real: the gentle way her baby rests against her chest, the tiny fingers, the laughter that bubbles up when you least expect it. As a fellow mom, I get it. We spend so much time behind the camera, documenting everyone else, and forget that we belong in the photos, too.
I always say: motherhood photos aren’t just for today, they’re for your future self, for your kids to look back on and think, “Dang, my mom was incredible.” Even if half the time we’re running on coffee and dry shampoo.
Motherhood is messy, beautiful, exhausting, and entirely worth celebrating. Annika’s session was a beautiful testament to that and a reminder that you deserve to exist in your family’s story, too.
