Let’s get into the details but
FIRST THINGS FIRST
Your boudoir experience is designed to be completely stress-free and pressure-free from start to finish.
This guide is filled with thoughtful insight to help you feel confident, prepared, and fully supported as you get ready for your session. Inside, you’ll find everything from wardrobe tips to mindset shifts, wellness encouragement, and gentle reminders that this is your time to reconnect with yourself.
I understand that every woman walks through our doors with a different story. Some of you may be craving a fresh start or seeking out healthy habits whether physically, mentally, or emotionally. Others may feel totally grounded right where you are. Both are valid. Both are welcome. Nothing in this guide is about changing who you are. It’s about showing up for yourself with intention, however that looks for you.
My goal is simple: to encourage and uplift you with honesty, care, and a whole lot of heart.
Take what resonates. Leave what doesn’t.
But most of all I hope something in these pages sparks inspiration and reminds you just how worthy you already are!
01. DOES THIS MAKE ME FEEL LIKE HER?
You know, the version of you that walks in like she owns the room. That piece that makes you stand taller, smirk a little deeper, and feel like a whole damn mood. If it doesn’t light you up when you look in the mirror… leave it behind.
02. WILL I BE ABLE TO RELAX IN THIS?
The goal is to feel amazing—not distracted. If something pinches, slips, digs, or demands constant adjusting, it’s going to pull you out of the moment (and show in the photos). Choose pieces that make you feel secure, sexy, and ready to move with ease and confidence.
02. WOULD I LOVE TO SEE THIS IN AN HEIRLOOM ALBUM FOR THE NEXT 20+ YEARS
When choosing what to wear, think beyond trends and focus on what will feel timeless to you. These images are going to live in a luxury album, a keepsake you’ll revisit for years to come. Ask yourself: Will I still love this look in a decade? Does it reflect the version of me I want to remember and celebrate? Choose pieces that feel personal, elevated, and lasting.
When coordinating outfits, I want you to ask yourself 3 honest questions.
WHAT DO I WEAR?
Choosing what to wear can feel like a lot, but don’t worry! I’ve got you. The goal is to select outfits that not only photograph beautifully, but that make you feel confident, comfortable, and like your best self. Below are tips to help you style your session with ease.
The art of boudoir is subjective and specific to each individual woman.
We celebrate your uniqueness and encourage you to keep that in mind when choosing your wardrobe! The options are endless ranging from modest attire to lace lingerie to tastefully nude. This experience is custom tailored to you and the specific goals you have for the session.
The most important piece of advice I can lend is to make sure your options fit properly and make you feel amazing!
I encourage you to try everything on ahead of time to ensure there are no surprises on the day of your session. If you are 100% on keeping certain outfits, take the time to remove any visible tags. If you are unsure and want to get my opinion first, then bring it to your session and leave the tags on in case you decide to return it. I ask that you bring 5-8 outfit options on the day of your session so that I can help you go through and determine what will photograph the best. Often times, items will photograph much differently that you anticipate so it is great to have multiple options! If you have more than 8, bring them all!
This does NOT mean that you have to go out and spend a fortune on lingerie.
Let me say that again - we do NOT expect you to show up with a suitcase full of brand new attire. Our studio has an extensive array of options in our client wardrobe that you are welcome to choose from and borrow for your shoot, and we have included a wide array of budget friendly options below. Your outfits might even be hiding in your closet! Seriously, don’t stress about wardrobe ladies. If you are struggling after reading through this guide, reach out to me and I will help!

SHOPPING FOR YOUR BODY TYPE
Every single one of us have parts of our bodies that we love and parts of our bodies that might make us feel a little insecure. While I want to celebrate every single part of your beautiful body and show you how PERFECT you are, there are some tips and tricks when it comes to shopping for the most flattering lingerie. If you shop for one item only…make it a bodysuit! Bodysuits are so flattering on all body types. If you are curvy and have concerns with your arms or legs, we can add a pretty lace robe, but know that I will encourage you to ditch it at some point and ask you to trust me to work my magic. If you have tummy concerns, opt for high waisted undies or a corset belt. An off the shoulder sweater or shirt is always fun, or a mens white button up. We can also do a set where you are mostly (or all the way) nude, wrapped in a white sheet. Above all else, find items that fit you well and don’t have overly tight straps that dig in and create bulges in your skin. I want to celebrate your voluptuous curves, not hide them!! Trust me to work my magic. I am really good at this!
We love these options!
THINGS WE RECOMMEND
These are recommendations and ideas to draw from, not requirements. We love a finished gallery that has a beautiful variety of styles and colors, so use this as a guide!
What to Pack for Your Session
Let’s create a variety of looks that feel true to you while giving us plenty of stunning options to work with. Here’s some ideas of what I recommend bringing:
✨ A One-Piece Wonder
Think bodysuits or teddies. These are universally flattering and photograph like a dream. Choose something with beautiful detail, bold texture, or an open back for that extra wow factor.
✨ A Two-Piece Set (or Two!)
This could be a classic bra and panty set, high-waisted bottoms for a vintage vibe, or a full lingerie trio with a garter belt and thigh-high stockings. Mix and match styles that make you feel confident and feminine.
✨ A Luxe Layer
A lace robe or sheer kimono is the perfect finishing touch. It adds movement, softness, and just the right amount of mystery. Layer it over your lingerie for a dreamy, romantic feel.
✨ Something Authentically You
Bring a look that reflects your personal style—maybe it’s a pair of distressed boyfriend jeans with a lacy bralette, an off-the-shoulder sweater, tall socks and a lingerie set, a fringe crop top, a white tee, or even a denim jacket over a bra and panty combo. We want to capture your energy, your personality, and your edge.
✨ Color Palette
Plan to include:
A classic black set
A soft white set
A pastel option (blush, lavender, champagne)
A deep tone (emerald, navy, wine)
Avoid neons or overly bright colors. They can distract and won’t age well in your heirloom album.
✨ Texture is Everything
Lace, scalloped edges, eyelash trim, subtle patterns and floral detailing. Textures photograph beautifully and add depth and dimension to your images. (Did we mention texture?)
✨ Heels That Slay
Pull out those pumps! A tall heel lengthens the legs, perks the booty, and adds a playful edge to your portraits. Bonus points for stilettos or peep-toes. Not a heel girl? No worries—your confidence is the real accessory.
✨ Timeless Accessories
Keep it simple and elegant: a delicate necklace, classic hoops, meaningful rings, or a bracelet you love. You’re also welcome to bring a wide-brim hat, a pretty hair ribbon, or a clip that feels uniquely you.
✨ Brides-to-Be
Add a sentimental touch to your shoot with your veil, engagement ring, wedding heels, a love letter, garter, or even a fresh bouquet. I love when brides bring florals—Trader Joe’s is my favorite go-to for beautiful, affordable stems!
✨ And Finally… Tasteful and Artistic Nudes Your most timeless look. If you're open to it, we’ll save these artistic, body-celebrating portraits for last—once you’re feeling brave and bold. We’ll style it tastefully with a sheet or a beautiful piece of fabric. It’s empowering, elegant, and truly unforgettable.
Use caution with these wardrobe choices!
THINGS TO AVOID
Items you might want to reconsider
Let’s keep things flattering, timeless, and effortless so you feel amazing and your images look just as good 20 years from now as they do today. Here are a few things we gently recommend skipping:
Let’s keep things flattering, timeless, and effortless so you feel amazing and your images look just as good 20 years from now as they do today. Here are a few things we gently recommend skipping:
❌ Too-Tight Pieces
If it digs in or leaves deep lines on your skin, it’s a no. Those marks can take time to fade and can affect how you feel (and how your images look).
❌ Super Flowy Fabrics
Babydolls, nighties, and anything overly loose tend to hide more than they flatter. Unless it fits just right, leave the complicated corsets and hook-a-million-times pieces at home. Simplicity wins here.
❌ Busy Patterns
We love subtle florals and elegant texture—but checkerboard prints, neon zebra stripes, or anything that screams instead of whispers? It might not photograph as good as you imagine.
❌ Chunky Heels & Wedges
Your go-to summer wedges might be comfy, but they don’t give that sleek, luxe vibe we’re going for. Think classic, tall, and timeless. There are exceptions to this though!
❌ Costumes & Loud Jewelry
Unless it’s deeply meaningful to you, steer clear of themed costumes, flashy statement jewelry, or anything that feels too gimmicky. We’re going for elevated, not over-the-top.
❌ Neon Colors
Hot pink might be fun, but neons tend to clash with skin tones and studio lighting. Instead, reach for softer tones, deep hues, and colors that complement you.
❌ Tired, Worn Pieces
That beloved bra with frayed edges? Or your favorite tee that’s seen better days? As cozy as they are, they can look worn on camera. Opt for fresh, photogenic pieces—but if that old tee means something to you, let’s get a few intentional shots with it!
❌ Ill-Fitting Stockings
Stockings that are too tight can create that dreaded thigh squeeze. Go up a size or two for a smoother fit, and check for runs ahead of time. A garter belt can help keep everything in place.
❌ Over-the-Top Props
Unless it barks (yes to puppies, always!), let’s skip the costume props. HOWEVER if there’s something sentimental you want included, just let me know ahead of time so we can plan for it thoughtfully.

SELF CARE
Feeling Good Looks Good on You
Think of your boudoir session as the perfect excuse for a little extra self-love. Whether it’s indulging in a fresh manicure, sipping your favorite coffee in peace, or finally booking that facial you’ve been eyeing. It’s all about doing what makes you feel amazing. This isn’t a checklist or a to-do list. These are gentle suggestions meant to inspire confidence and help you feel your best, inside and out.
And let’s be honest. Self-care doesn’t always look like spa days and silk robes. Sometimes all you can manage is a quiet grocery run without the kids or a hot shower without tiny fists pounding on the door (trust me, I see you). Wherever you’re at, we meet you there with zero pressure and full acceptance.
If you want to go all out, go for it. If you’re showing up with day-old hair and a heart that’s ready to feel something again? That works too. You’re already enough and this session is about celebrating exactly that.
THINGS TO GO FOR
SMOOTH MOVES (if you want ‘em)
WAXING
Waxing is a great way to smooth things out and feel extra confident in front of the camera. Getting your eyebrows shaped beforehand is a subtle but powerful way to frame your face and bring attention to those beautiful eyes. An upper lip wax can also help eliminate any fuzz that may catch the light in close-up shots.
As for anything else…a bikini or Brazilian wax is totally optional but can make you feel sleek and camera-ready in your lingerie. If you do go this route, please see a licensed professional. Now’s not the time to test your skills with a DIY wax kit. Some lessons are best learned after your session. For best results, book your wax 3–5 days before your shoot to allow any redness to calm down.
SHAVING
Not into waxing? Totally fine. If shaving is your go-to, we recommend doing it the night before or the morning of your shoot. Take it slow and gentle. This isn’t the time for razor burn or nicks in delicate spots.
And hey, if you want to skip the hair removal altogether and show up as your beautifully natural self, we are all for it. This is your body, your choice, your shoot. We just want to help you avoid the “ugh, I wish I would have...” moments later.
Nail Care
Your hands will be front and center during your session touching your hair, framing your curves, holding onto lace and silk…so let’s make sure those nails are photo-ready.
Treat yourself to a manicure (or a quick DIY polish at home) before your shoot. A clean, bare nail is beautiful, or go with a timeless color like nude, blush, classic red, or french tip. Skip the neons, glitter bombs, or seasonal patterns as they tend to distract from the magic we’re creating.
If a nail chips the morning of your shoot, don’t panic. We’re aiming for polished and confident, not unattainable perfection. We can work around a rogue nail.
Don’t forget your toes! A pedicure with a fresh coat of polish or clean, well-moisturized skin adds a lovely finishing touch. Going barefoot in studio? Smooth soles are always a plus.
OVERALL SKINCARE
Hydrate • Exfoliate • Moisturize
Healthy, glowing skin starts from the inside out. Hydrate like it’s your part-time job in the week leading up to your session—your skin (and energy levels) will thank you.
Consider booking a facial a week before your shoot. Hydrating, exfoliating, or calming facials are great options. If you’re dealing with acne or skin sensitivity, this is a beautiful excuse to invest in some extra TLC for yourself. No time for a facial? That’s okay. Just gently exfoliate your face and body, and use your favorite rich moisturizer to get that glow going.
Avoid trying any new products right before your session—redness, breakouts, or irritation aren’t the kind of surprises we want.
And lips! They matter more than you think. Exfoliate with a toothbrush or lip scrub and keep a nourishing balm nearby. Chapped lips + lipstick = no bueno. (And no, I can’t edit around clumpy lips. Trust me, balm is your BFF.)
HAIR CARE
Let’s talk about that crown of yours. Whether you're rocking long waves or a chic bob, your hair plays a big part in the overall vibe of your images.
If you regularly color your hair, schedule a freshen-up the week before your session. Those roots deserve a little love. Ask your stylist about adding a deep conditioning mask or Olaplex treatment to boost shine and bounce (your hair will thank you on camera).
Thinking of a brand-new look? Give yourself at least a couple of weeks before the shoot, just in case things don’t go exactly as planned. We want you walking into your session feeling confident, not stressed about a surprise color shift.
Arrive with clean, dry hair, ready for styling. Our stylist will handle the magic from there. If you wear extensions, bring them with you or have them already installed. Just note: we can only style human hair extensions with heat tools. Synthetic extensions and “clip-and-hope-for-the-best” pieces are a no-go.
If you're bringing extensions, make sure they’ve been professionally color-matched and blended ahead of time as we cannot edit a better blend into the final images.
Our standard glam style? Big, voluminous curls that feel effortless and luxe. But don’t worry we’ll chat before we get started to make sure you love the final look.
STRETCH IT OUT
Surprise! Boudoir isn’t just a confidence boost…it’s practically a workout.
Many clients tell me they didn’t expect holding some of these poses to be so real. I always joke that boudoir is basically yoga with better lighting. Your core will be engaged, your back arched, your toes pointed…and yes, you’ll absolutely feel it.
While I’ll guide you every step of the way (and never ask you to do anything painful or uncomfortable), a little pre-session stretch can go a long way. Consider warming up your body the morning of your shoot with a good stretch or light movement—maybe even a brisk walk or your favorite workout.
Even better? Start incorporating stretching into your weekly routine leading up to your session. Not only will it help you hold poses more comfortably, but it can improve posture, reduce stress, boost circulation, and give you that graceful, elongated look on camera.
This is your time to feel strong, powerful, and beautifully in tune with your body. A little stretching goes a long way.
THINGS AVOID
Avoid the booze
It might be tempting to pour a little something to calm the nerves, but skip the drinks in the days leading up to your shoot. Alcohol dehydrates your skin and can leave you looking dull or feeling puffy. You definitely don’t want to show up hungover. I’ll offer you a mimosa the morning of your session, but we keep it to one. If you know alcohol gives you flushed cheeks or sleepy eyes, let’s stick to a coffee or mocktail instead.
Don’t get a brand-new tattoo
Fresh ink might sound fun, but it’s not ideal for your session. New tattoos can be sticky, uncomfortable, and restrict posing. Plus, we want to avoid anything that could cause you to feel stiff or distracted. If you’re planning a new tattoo, just be sure it’s fully healed before shoot day.
Don’t forget your pearly whites
A clean, confident smile always photographs beautifully. If you’re up for it, consider using whitening strips or a gentle whitener for a few weeks beforehand. I’m a big fan of Lumineux and Cali White from Amazon. No sensitivity, just a fresh and radiant smile. Not necessary, but definitely a fun boost if you’re into it.
Skip the self-tanner
Self-tanner might seem like a good idea, but in photos it often clings to dry spots and leaves orange undertones. My natural light editing style is soft, flattering, and absolutely loves your real skin tone. If you decide to use a tanner, keep it light and be very careful with your application. Avoid trying a new product right before your session. Also avoid tanning beds, especially if you’re prone to the infamous tan line under the booty. That one is tricky to edit.
No body makeup, please
Unless we’ve discussed using it to cover something specific, skip the body makeup. It transfers to sheets and fabrics and can be a mess to clean up. Trust me when I say you don’t need it.
You are going to look and feel amazing without any of the extras. Take care of your skin, drink your water, get some rest, and let me take care of the rest.
Rewriting the Narrative
LET’S TALK SELF-TALK
The moment you step into our studio is the moment you leave negative self-talk at the door. This is a space built on warmth, encouragement, and genuine celebration. We’re not here to pick apart flaws. We’re here to remind you of everything that makes you powerful, beautiful, and worthy.
We know that self-love isn’t a switch you flip overnight. It’s a journey, and often a messy, imperfect one. But awareness is the first step. Being mindful of how you speak to yourself and gently shifting those inner narratives. That’s where the transformation begins.
Start small. Start today. And know that you’re not doing it alone. I’ll be there to guide you, hype you up, and help you see what’s been there all along.
That said, this studio is also a real and honest space. If there’s something you’re feeling nervous or self-conscious about, please don’t hold back. You can be fully transparent with me, and I’ll meet you with nothing but compassion, understanding, and sensitivity.
You don’t have to feel fully confident to start this journey. You just have to show up. And I’ll take it from there.
EDITING — How much do we actually retouch?
Editing is a powerful part of the creative process and plays a big role in turning your images into the polished, artful portraits you’ll fall in love with. That said, my philosophy is to get everything as perfect as possible in-camera so your final images feel authentic and true to you—with just the right amount of refinement.
Yes, we’ll absolutely remove that surprise blemish, a bruise that showed up last-minute, or anything else we chat about together. Editing is a personal and collaborative process, and we approach it with care and intention.
However, retouching is not a replacement for preparation. There are a few things we can’t fix after the fact—things like hair color grow-out, smudged self-tanner, harsh tan lines, sunburns, chipped nails, missed shaving spots, or ripped stockings. These seemingly small details can take hours to fix (and sometimes can’t be edited at all) which is why we place so much emphasis on thoughtful preparation.
I’ll be adjusting straps, tucking tags, snipping strings, and fussing over the details during your shoot because I care deeply about delivering the highest quality product possible. That extra attention to detail? You’ll see it—and feel it—in your final gallery.
We’ve got you covered… but your prep matters, too.
SURGERY SCARS & STRETCH MARKS
I truly believe that scars tell a story—one that belongs only to you. They’re a testament to where you’ve been, what you’ve overcome, and the strength it took to get here. Whether they came from motherhood, surgery, growth, or healing, these marks are deeply personal, and the emotions tied to them are just as unique.
Some of my clients choose to highlight and embrace their scars as part of their journey. Others prefer to have them gently softened or edited out because they represent a chapter that’s painful to revisit. I honor both.
As a standard, I will never remove or alter a scar or stretch mark unless you specifically ask me to. I want you to feel fully in control of how your story is told—and I’m always here to have an open and honest conversation about your preferences. Your comfort is what matters most, and I support you, completely.
PLAN AHEAD
PLAN AHEAD
Map out our studio location ahead of time.
Nothing puts a damper on a fun and relaxing day like feeling rushed or unprepared. Please map out your route well ahead of time and account for traffic so you are sure to be on time or a few minutes early. In fact, do it right now! Our address is 9100 Hwy 234, Gold Hill Oregon, 97525.
Make a playlist!
I love playing music that you LOVE! We have a bluetooth speaker in the studio that we can easily stream your music to if you choose to make a playlist. If not, I will take care of the music that matches your style!
Bring a lightweight robe.
I recommend wearing a comfy robe during hair and makeup to ensure that no tight clothing items are leaving lines or indentations in your skin. Even the seam on your super comfy leggings can leave a line that takes forever to fade away. If you do not have a robe, we will provide one for you at the studio! Avoid heavy thick robes that might make you sweat.
Plan ahead!
Pack your bags ahead of time and double check your list to make sure you did not leave anything behind. There is nothing worse that arriving to your session to discover you only brought only one heel or left your favorite lace bra at home. Double check everything!
Pressed and pretty
Iron or steam items that have wrinkles and pack them carefully to ensure they stay nice on your way to the studio. Make sure items are washed and inspect your lingerie for loose strings and tags that need to be removed.
Notify us of any skin allergies
Our makeup artist needs to know if you have any allergies or sensitivity concerns. Please make us aware! We will be sending you a hair and makeup questionnaire prior to your shoot, please fill it out accordingly.
Boudoir Can Feel Scary… But I Promise It’s Not.
Let’s be real. You felt bold when you booked this shoot, riding high on bravery and maybe a little adrenaline. But now? The self-doubt starts creeping in. You’re wondering if you should reschedule for six months from now… after you’ve hit the gym a little more, gotten that laser treatment, or tackled whatever your inner critic is whispering about this week.
I get it. Deeply. Because the truth is that we are always chasing the next version of ourselves. It’s so easy to think, “I’ll feel more confident when…” But what if you didn’t have to wait?
Here’s what I know after nearly a decade of photographing women from every walk of life in every size, every stage, every story: we all have insecurities. Even the women you think have it “all together” wrestle with self-doubt. Boudoir isn’t about being perfect. It’s about being present. And it’s my job to help you see the beauty that already exists in you right now.
So if you're not quite ready to celebrate yourself fully, that’s okay. Let me celebrate you. With expert posing, intentional lighting, and years of experience capturing real women, I’ll guide you through every step so you feel supported, empowered, and yes, beautiful.
Whether it’s stretch marks, nursing boobs, a tummy that tells your motherhood story, or thighs you’ve never quite made peace with, I will meet you with zero judgment and all the grace in the world. This studio is a safe, supportive, real-as-heck zone and I’m here to remind you just how radiant you already are.
From one woman (and mama of two wild ones) to another: I see you. I get you. And I can’t wait to show you what everyone else already sees in you.
You’ve got this.
And I’ve got you. Trust me!
Let’s Address Some
Common Concerns
STRESS ACNE
If you’re assuming every woman on our website had flawless skin, I kindly invite you to set that idea down. Blemishes happen. Breakouts are part of being human. And if one decides to show up for your shoot, let it—it won’t ruin a thing. We’ll gently edit out any temporary visitors like zits or bruises. (If you’ve got a major bruise or injury, just give me a heads-up so I can plan accordingly.)
SHOOT ANXIETY
Worried about being awkward or not knowing what to do? That’s my specialty. From the moment you walk into the studio, you’ll be met with warmth, humor, and zero judgment. I’ve worked with every kind of woman imaginable—and I’ll be guiding you every step of the way. You don’t need to know how to pose or “look sexy.” You just need to show up. I’ll do the rest, and you’ll walk away shocked at how good you feel and how incredible you look.
ON YOUR PERIOD?
If your cycle is regular, we’ll try to schedule around it. But sometimes our bodies have other plans—don’t panic. A little bloating or cramping won’t ruin your shoot. We’ve got Tylenol, heating pads, and a whole lot of compassion. You can take as many bathroom breaks as needed, and yes, we have extra tampons and pads on hand. You’re in good company.
“I’M NOT PHOTOGENIC”
First of all, yes you are. Second of all, that’s my job to prove it to you. I’ve never had a woman leave without loving her images. I’ll guide you through every pose, every movement, every detail down to your fingertips. You don’t need to rehearse poses in the mirror or perfect your "sexy face." Just come as you are. I’ll take care of the rest.
“I DON’T HAVE TIME OR ENERGY TO PREP”
Hi, fellow mama. If you're in a season of life where a solo grocery trip feels like a spa day and your self-care routine involves hiding in the bathroom for five minutes, I see you. Literally, I’m writing this one-handed with a baby on my hip. You don’t need to do all the things. If you can swing just a few, here’s what I recommend:
Wash your face and moisturize
Exfoliate with something gentle a few days before (I love Enzyme Ex-Cell on Amazon—so good for lips too).
Hydrate. It makes a difference in your skin, energy, and glow.
Treat yourself to one or two outfits that make you feel excited—use the links I gave you, I made it easy.
Shave, moisturize, and remove old polish the night before.
Show up with clean, dry hair and a bare face. That’s it. Let us pamper you from there.
You don’t need to be perfect. You just need to show up.
You deserve this.
No prep guilt allowed.
